Review - Hotel Access Nepal in Thamel, Kathmandu

A modern Establishment close for everything

The Hotel Access Nepal is a modern Hotel set slightly back off Chaksibari Marg to the northern end of Central Thamel and reached via a small Courtyard which contains two Restaurants, A Cycle Hire Shop and small Supermarket.

The Reception area is always occupied by very efficient, smartly dressed Staff who are only too pleased to assist you with any Baggage or information. The Hotel also caters for the booking of Excursions, Treks and owns it's own Taxi which you can hire for local sight-seeing.

The Rooms are all very spacious each having it's own en-suite, large TV, armchairs and a phone to Reception.
Running two Web Sites as I do it was quite important for me to keep internet connection to the UK, I was pleasantly surprised that during my 14 night stay I never lost a connection and the speeds were very good at all times.
Having their own Generator ensures you of this plus of course you don't have to worry about lighting and any other electrical gadgets you may have with you.

Breakfasts are served on the Balcony Restaurant which overlooks the busy Streets below. Service and selection of food is second to none with a choice of cooked or cold food. Fruit, Yogurt and Cereals are also available.

Rooms are cleaned daily (or upon request) and there's a same day Laundry Service. There is also a 24 hour Security Person on duty.

Reading the Trip Advisor reviews, you may notice that the odd Guest has referred to the noise in the evenings.
With that in mind you have to remember you are in Central Thamel and sure to get the beeps from the passing cars and general hustle bustle of a City full of Tourists.
It is true to say there's a Club close by with a Live Band playing every evening (until about 11.15 - 11.30pm) but the Hotel windows are pretty secure and soundproof plus of course you have Air-Conditioning to make up for any cooler air you may require. I didn't find this off putting at all (and I'm a Country person!!).

I had a most enjoyable and relaxing stay. I have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel and very much looking forward to a return visit in October 2014.
